Eliana is the founder and president of Students for the Environment. She started the club in her sophomore year of high school with the intent of cultivating a space for passionate students to come together and exchange ideas, worries, hopes, dreams, and, more importantly, to take that momentum and turn it into action. As the president of Students for the Environment, Eliana is responsible for sending out weekly emails, working closely with staff and outside organizations, and leading weekly meetings. She is especially interested in the intersection of conservation and social justice, which she hopes to further pursue in college. Braden graves
Braden is an editor for the Students of the Environment website. He joined last year (2019) in hopes to engage with other students and has a particular interest in supporting local animals. As an editor, he aids in the article process and reviews published work. He hopes to participate in community service in the area. Maya Jimenez
Maya Jimenez is a member and contributor of HTHMA's Students for the Environment. Her love and admiration of the Earth drives her to continue to advocate for a variety of environmental issues. She is particularly interested in the Low Impact movement, minimalism, conserving nature, and political advocacy. Maya loves to hike, read, write creative fiction, and look at memes. Collette mccurdy
Collette McCurdy is a founding member of Students for the Environment and an editor for the Students for the Environment website. She originally joined the club to explore her interest in environmental justice and to learn more about various environmental issues occurring across the globe, and has since organized protests, shared videos and poems during group discussions, and written about the eco-friendly changes we can make in our daily lives to reduce our own carbon footprints. Collette hopes to continue fighting for environmental justice when she pursues a career in law, and is dedicated to educating both herself and others about the impacts our actions have on the planet. Samantha del rio
Samantha Del Rio is a contributor and member of Students for the Environment at High Tech High Media Arts. She joined her freshmen year in hopes to learn more about keeping the planet safe and thus teaching others about it. Samantha works to pursue the minimalist and zero waste life style.
Samantha is currently working towards gaining scholarships and the attention of colleges in NYC as she wants to get a BFA in Musical Theater. Along with performing, Sam loves photography and her culture. She expresses her feelings, shares her culture and current issues through performance and photography. As she grows older, she uses her voice to talk about feminism, LGTBQ+ acceptance/awareness, and the BLM Movement. |

As the website's manager, Caitlyn takes on the responsibility of making everything accessible to the public. By inputting the content from the authors, organizing the website, and making everything pleasing , she keeps this website as updated and informative as possible. She joined S.F.T.E. when the club began and just recently became the website's manager.
Since a kid, she has had an interest in learning more about the planet, the wonders it holds, and gardening and planting her own flowers, plants, fruits, and vegetables. She tries everyday to learn more about the environment, teach it to her friends and family, and hopes to do that later in her future. Caitlyn is hoping to go to college and pursue a career in Environmental Law/Policy, whether in upstate California or back home near the East Coast.
